On January 27, 2024, Mira Kadrić delivered a speech about court and public service interpreting at the European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association, having been invited to present her insights. In her speech, she underscored the interconnectedness of education and research, emphasizing the critical need for continuous and comprehensive training for interpreters. Since November 2016, the University of Vienna has been offering a continuing education course in court and public service interpreting. As the academic director of this program, Mira Kadrić highlighted the essential role of high-quality training programs in ensuring and advancing professional standards in this profession. She discussed how these programs prepare individuals already working or aspiring to work as interpreters and translators in judicial settings, for the police and asylum authorities, in healthcare and education, and for social institutions, stressing the significance of interpreting quality to all stakeholders.
